• Poker Pro Erik Seidel wins 2011 Aussie Millions Super-High Rollers Event

2010 Poker Hall of Fame inductee and professional poker player, Erik Seidel, added another accolade to his already impressive poker resume after taking the largest buy-in in event poker history: the 2011 Aussie Millions $250,000 Super High Roller Event. In addition to the tournament's title, Siedel won a AUD$2.5 million dollar prize ($2,472,555 U.S). With this huge prize, Seidel moved to the third place on poker's all-time leading money with $13,788,227, right behind Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey.

The eight time WSOP gold bracelet winner outlasted a field of 20-players, which also included poker pros Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, John Juanda, Annette Obrestad, David Benyamine and Dan "Jungleman12" Cates. At the time the tournament reached the final heads up, Seidel had a huge 5 to 1 deficit against runner up Sam Trickett, who eliminated virtually every big name on the final table.

However, Seidel needed less than an hour to overcome Trickett's huge chip advantage and claim the first-place. The final hand of the tournament came after Seidel was dealt a Jh-9c vs. Trickett's As-Qh. The flop came 3s-5h-9h. Trickett check-raised Seidel all-in, who made the call to send Trickett home in 2nd place.

With his latest victory, Seidel now has $3.46 million in winnings only in the month of January. Other cashes include a 4th place finish at the PCA $25k High Roller Event for $295,960 and a 3rd place finish at the Aussie Millions $10k NL Event for $618,139.
The final payouts were as follows:

    Erik Seidel AUD $2,500,000
    Sam Trickett: AUD$1,400,000
    David Benyamine: AUD$1,110,000
