• Heads Up Event returns to APT Philippines

The No Limit Heads Up action will return to the Asian Poker Tour (APT) starting next month. According to a new announcement released this week, the tournament's organization added a Heads Up event to the 2011 APT Philippines calendar. The Heads Up Asian Championship, which has a buy-in of US $440, will have a limit of 64 entries with two flights scheduled on opening day, March 28.

Expected to take part in the event are poker pros Michael Cua, last year’s APT Main Event champion; Wally Sombero, the godfather of Asian Poker; Asian circuit fixtures Ben Abrahams and Gordon Huntley; as well as local pros Mark Rivera and Jay Tolon among many others.

“Half of the slots have already been locked in well over a month before the event! Confirming that the heads-up format is a popular one for poker enthusiasts. I advise interested players to reserve their seats. Demand is running high for this event.” commented tournament director Lloyd Fontillas.

The APT Philippines 2011 will be held at the Resorts World Manila from March 28 to April 3, 2011. The main event buy-in is set at US $2,500 + US $200 with 11 side events and 6 satellite events also scheduled in the 7-day event.
