• Doom & Gloom of Online Poker in 2011

Trying to get past the doom and gloom I feel about poker since I have had to play in brick and mortar games locally. I like playing for real money, it is the gamble and the skill that attracts me to it, so I go dashing to the Dog Track to pay to get in and play the only local convenient option I have. I miss online poker as I say in my local game so often to the so many familiar faces I see on a regular basis. They laugh and say to me “How’s that working for you now?”. Not sure if the rest of you feel this way but, since the shutdown it has become apparent to me that I may never see my lost money online and that I have to grin and bear it!

Online was convenient and best of all it granted me the liberties that land based rooms don't. So let me just name a few of my least favorite things about land based casinos I do not especially like when playing poker as we approach the twelve days of Christmas with out Online Poker in America. My personal list of the things that annoy me the most.

    12. NO Free Food
    11. Dueling Microphones
    10. Hovering Cocktail Waitresses
    9. High Hand Jackpots
    8. Uncomfortable Seats.
    7. Chip Racks
    6. Annoying Players
    5.
    Having to DRIVE
    4. Stacking Chips
    3. No Music
    2. Restricted Hours
    1. Drum roll please!.......NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY ON MULTIPLE TABLES!

So there are my top 12 in the order to which I dislike the brick and mortar games that I have to play in and why I want my online poker back. But most of all for Christmas I want, ALL who have money online to have it given back to them.

I have heard so much news from various sources over the past year about the possible fate of US player’s monies that it no longer surprises me to what the outcome may be and who will benefit. Have we really lost hope of ever recovering those monies and wondering if others have the same sentiment that I do about the FTP debacle?

That 800 pound gorilla in the room called the DOJ seems to be holding all the cards and leaving me with NO OUTS. It will only get more complicated as time goes by because there is too much money at stake and too many people looking to make a profit from it. Can someone please make a decision and have the players interest at heart FIRST since they are the ENGINE that drives all this INCOME.
