The tournament was played from June 28-30, 2010 and registered a field of 460 players for a total prize pool of $2,162,000 paid to the top 45 finishers. The final table began at 8:30 pm and ended at 4:10 am and included former WSOP gold bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi as well as poker pros, Jose-Nacho Barbero, Eric Liu and Julian Gardner.
Kornuth dominated most of the final table action, eliminating Eric Liu, Julian Gardner, Scott Mandel before entering the heads up action against runner up Kevin Boudreau. The final hand of the tournament came when Kornuth raised all-in with 2h-8c-Jd on the board and got called by Boudreau. Kornuth opened 6h-Qc-8h-9d, and Boudreau showed Kc-Kh-4s-As. The turn and the river were 8s-3c, giving Kornuth trip eights and the victory.
