WSOP update: 2010 Main Event Final Table is Set

After more than 78 hours of action played over eight days, Canadian players Matthew Jarvis and Jonathan Duhamel, Italian poker star Filippo Candio and Americans Jason Sentl, Joseph Cheong, John Dolan, Michael Mizrachi, John Racener and Cuong Nguyen have secured a seat in the 2010 WSOP Main Event Final Table.

The final table chip count is leaded by 22-year old Canadian Jonathan Duhamel with 65,975,000 chips, followed by 24 year old player from Bonita Springs, FL, John Dolan with 46,250,000 chips. Probably the most notable name in the “November Nine” is professional poker player Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi. The “Grinder” has numerous appearances at the World Poker Tour, and recently won his first WSOP bracelet and $1,559,046 in the 2010 $50,000 Players Championship.

The 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event kicked off two weeks ago, with a field of 7,319 poker players, including 18 former world champions, nearly 150 gold bracelet winners, in addition to hundreds of professional and amateur poker players from 92 different nations. The last elimination on Day 8 was Brandon Steven, who lost the chance to play his first WSOP final table after moving all in holding Ac-Ks, Steven was called by Matthew Jarvis with Qc-Qs. The final board showed 10c-4h-3d-4c-5h, giving Jarvis the hand with a pair of Queens and sending Steven home in 10th place ( $635,011).

The 2010 Word Series of Poker Main Event final table, also known as the November Nine, will resume on November 6th, 2010 at the Penn and Teller Theater at the Rio in Las Vegas. The first day of action will bring the nine finalists playing down to the last two survivors. The final heads-up will be held on November 8th, 2010 and will televised live on ESPN.
