Poker a Sport yes or no

There has been a long lasting debate as to whether or not poker is a sport. All though it is shown on sports channels , many people have trouble deciding for themselves whether or not poker is a sport. While it requires no athletic ability, people still tend to think of it as a sport. What is your opinion on this.

I don't think it's a sport at all. Anything you can participate in while eating and getting a massage at the same time is not a sport.

I was going to say no, because you can drink and do it, but massages count as no sportr, even more. I am such a suck up. The real reason I thoink its not a sport? Because I don't suck at it.

I personally do not consider it a sport. I define a sport as a competitive physical activity playing directly against others. Poker under my "definition" of sport, is not a sport. Neither is something like bowling or darts do I "truly" consider a sport. While it involves physical movements and you're competing, you're merely trying to put up the best score against someone else and the opponent has no direct effect on someone else's performance.

I don't think poker qualifies as a sport. It has elements uncommon to the concept of a sport activity. It can be pure gambling or moderate gambling depending on the different types of games but not a sport as such.
