A little while ago the tech blogs and articles were inundating consumers with 3D TV. Price drops putting 3D within the grasp of mainstream America, new stations promising 3D content. In short, it was the future.

Don't get me wrong, I think it IS the future. But presently, it sucks. Sales of 3D tv sets has been dismal. Big name manufacturers like Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, etc. all jumped aboard and decided that's what they wanted us to buy. I think it's clear consumers have spoken with their dollars as they've stuck with "old fashioned" 2D tv flat screens.

Score one for consumers. It shouldn't be manufacturers that tell us what we want, we tell them.
