Vote - do you want the Reid bill to pass?

Online poker can get legalized, taxed, and regulated now but US players would have a 15 month blackout.

    It's such an unenviable position.

Pro's - online poker is regulated, licensed, and taxed which means the federal government will lay off poker rooms and players can deposit and withdraw much easier. There should be increased competition from poker rooms which ideally means better benefits for players. It's a long term solution and program.

Cons - States have to opt in, it's likely anywhere from 8-15 states will say NO to online poker. There's a 15 month blackout for players, and anyone playing on Stars or Tilt will have to wait 39 months to see them come back into the market.

To me its starting to seem like leaving the way it is might be better.

That might be what we end up, no changes. However even facing a possible 39 month exit from the US, both Stars and Tilt are supporting this bill. That has to make you wonder why. The logical assumption is that it'd be better for online poker in the long run.

I voted yes, but not without feeling conflicted about it. The licensing and regulation I don't care about so much. Players learn and tell each other about what rooms are reputable and which aren't. If a poker room lies the players will flee. Just look at Ultimate Bet and AP. They are trying to come back but it's taken years.

Really I just want the government to leave the payment processors alone. But we don't get that unless they're doing whatever they think is right, in this case it's regulating, licensing, and taxing.

It's not fun to play when you won't see your money for 4-6 weeks after making a withdrawal.

Well i guess all we can do is wait and see what happens, we have very little control over what happens.

Here's a prime example of why we need legislation.

I made a simple withdrawal via bank wire for $100. I just got the bank wire today, only received $72.12.

The payment processor took over 25% of my withdrawal as a cut.

*edit* I made this withdrawal request literally 28 days ago.

*More edits* I just logged into my bank account and saw that they charged me $12 just to receive the bank wire.

So out of $100 I only got $60.20.
