    Call me crazy, but...

Has anyone else noticed the lack of big name pros playing online? I'm referring mainly to stars and ftp (ivey, dwan, negreanu, ferguson, lindgren, antonius, hansen etc), but it definitely seems way less than what it was a few years ago. I've been reading up on some people's thoughts / conspiracy theories, but do the pros know something about online poker that we don't? I recently started thinking about this after reading about pokerstars signing 15 new "pros" to their list, which is a more watered down pro list than a watered down glass of wine (I'm bad with analogies). Some of the people had some pretty convincing points

Nonetheless, it makes you think... comments?

I dont really go around to check to see who all is playing but there was alot of pros in that 2 day $10k event which is still goin on right now. Alessio Isaia and Scott Clements are the only 2 pros left and its down to the final 4. Maybe they feel better and more comfortable at the real tables instead of online.

I think there may be two reasons.

Lack of pros playing - the biggest names all played live. Internet poker is new to them. Some of them have struggled, others have adjusted just fine (Ivey, Antonius) but the poker economy has changed a lot since 07. With the UIGEA its more difficult to find fresh fish. The games at 400+ are really tough. If some of the name pros struggled online then, they certainly won't play now.

Two - back to economics, its cheaper to bring ok young internet pros. Everyone is trying to keep their costs down. Even Stars wanted their pros to take a cut and some walked (Raymer)

Overall it is disappointing to not see the biggest stars stay away from online poker. Maybe they can't find any games to play, it maybe they don't have the roll, desire, etc to play.
