Are there any benefits to US players banned from online poker?

Off the top of my head ...

    ---

1 - US Players with rakeback can now simply purchase whatever they want from poker room stores using their player points and not worry about taking a hit on the MGR. Always wanted a PS3? Maybe a 50 inch big screen TV? Go ahead and get it.

2 - You won't be cooped up inside on weekends anymore. The sun is out, the weather is improving. Enjoy the company of live people for a change

3 - Use the skills you picked up online to dominate live games

4 - In the long run I think this will be good for poker. It's just another step on the way to legalized poker. The short term is going to suck, but think about all the proposed legislation from last year, there would have been a mandatory 12-15 month blackout period anyways.

5 - When online poker DOES come back, it'll be regulated, taxed, and licensed. There won't be any worries about that sort of thing. The market for it will always exist. Use this time to watch poker videos or read books and get ready to crush once the floodgates open.

    Great suggestions MSU!

And yes I noticed myself not even being on my computer yesterday until last night. There are some who that is all they do is play poker all day but I am sure they are playing on the sites they still can play on, but not me I have no interest in playing for now.

Nice post. I have been sick and not getting on my computer nor playing poker for about a month. Not missing the bad beats and the weather is perfect for a walk. X

Not sure most online players can make the transition to live. I was reading a post from a dealer that suggested the online players are getting their buts handed to them playing live. I rarely venture out to casinos or card rooms, because I hate the atmosphere so much, but I expect to find some even softer than usual private games around very soon.
