    Online Poker legalized this year?

According to the Caesar's chairman he thinks that it's a good possibility.

I don't know about THIS year, but I do think it's inevitable. There's too much money and now with Stars and Full Tilt muscled out by the feds, the land based casino's are champing at the bit to get their hands on the US market with exclusivity.

Well since we are half way through the year i doubt it will be legalized this year but i guess anything can happen and the sooner it is the better it will be.

With land based casino's getting behind this there will be movement. US politicians are going to listen to CEO's of the biggest Vegas casinos more than "rumored" owners of overseas internet gaming operations where they have no oversight or transparency.

I really do think Caesar's will be the leading group on this and I'd expect to see an online poker skin from them hitting the internet within the next year. It'll start with free only options and you can bet a real money option will be waiting in the wings.

Well the free sites wont draw as many people as a real money site would. There are plenty of places you can play for play money online but it just isnt the same and dont interest many people.

I definitely don't think a free site would draw as many players, but I do think it would set the groundwork and get some buzz and interest going. Developing a player base before they can provide real money action would be a smart business and marketing move. It will bring in casual players who may have been afraid of overseas rooms but see the Caesar's branding and want to sign up.
