I am more convinced today than ever that the US will have regulated and licensed online poker. I'm guessing towards the end of 2012 or early 2013.
There's enough interest on Capitol Hill that it's getting traction and hearings. If you haven't spent time studying congress you should know this is a big deal. Literally hundreds of bills are debated daily, only a few get hearings.
What poker needs isn't to sway the minds of those that oppose it, we just have to get them from moving against it.
I will caution everyone with this, when the government gets involved you never know what's going to happen. It may not be user friendly, it might be burdensome from a tax perspective, etc but I do think poker is coming back, it's just a matter of when.
