Smile Cole South moved abroad to play on Full Tilt Poker

The American professional player Cole South is the first high stakes grinder that has moved abroad to get around the recent USA players online poker bans and is now playing on Full Tilt Poker showing Canada as his new location.

Now we are waiting to see who is the first forum member that moves outside the USA to take advantage of all the exclusive country restricted free money offers and promotions of PokerPressBox and FPCBR.

Cole lives in my neighborhood in DC. I saw him numerous times last year. I will keep an eye out for him.

It's my understanding he only has a residence in Canada, he hasn't given up his citizenship.

If I was a US poker pro with great success at the game, I would move also. This is my full income and I would do what I have to do. X

I think there's likely a big difference between online pro's with tangible real life skills (ie: cole south who has a degree in math from Georgetown, can get a job anywhere in town) and guys who never went to college. They may have jumped in at 18 and never came up with a backup plan.

Cole has repeatedly said in his former CardRunners blog that he plays because he enjoys it, not because he necessarily needs the money.

It will be interesting to see who makes a full-time move versus those that just rent a place or stay with friends abroad for a month or more when they want to play.
