    MSUDuster - 2 months $2k

So I decided to get more serious about poker. In January I saw some pretty good results when I didn't play like a tilted monkey. I wanted to see if I could turn $200 into a $2k profit. Profit would include rakeback and any other bonuses that come along.

At the stakes I'm starting at, 25PLO Shallow tables, $200 should be enough to withstand some nasty variance as the max buy-in is only $10. So I had 20 full BI's. Basically I'm looking to exercise some good bankroll management. I'll take occasional shots up at 50PLO and even 100PLO if the games are good. I can be a little aggressive with my roll to move up faster, but for the most part I'm only looking to risk 20-25% of my roll if I play at 100 or higher. At 100PLO the max buy-in is $40 and at 200PLO it's $80. If things go wrong, they can get bad quick.

I'll post a graph every Sunday with my results and hopefully by April 1 you'll see me with a $2k profit.

So .... here's a graph of my play from midnight on Feb 1 until last night. I'm not planning on playing at all today, but if I do today's results will be reflected in next week's graph. As you can see, I played a variety of stakes. I know I included 2PLO, but just note I never played below 25 and I did play a few rounds up at 200.

If you think I'm playing with poor bankroll management, or have any other observations, PLEASE do share them.

I'll be posting weekly graphs in this thread to help keep me honest about what's happening with my game.

You'll see at around 2k hands I took a big jump (found some good games up at 100 and 200PLO so I grabbed one seat at each stake) and then around the 2800 hand mark I took a big dive. That was me getting hammered at 25 and 50PLO where I couldn't win any of the 75-25's or 80-20's when I was ahead on the turn or losing flips on the flop. Losing stacks across 4-5 tables of 25PLO means a $50+ loss. Fun.

The week was OK, but no, I do not expect to win $200+ a week consistently. PLO is so swingy I expect to see 10-30BI downswings on occasion.

It's more important that I play well and understand when and why I'm losing. I was fortunate that I could play a fair amount of hands this week but my schedule gets busier the further into February we go, so I expect my hand volume to decrease which also means the variance will be higher.

Wow that was brutal, only card he could hit was the 5 and they gave it to him, its so sick how many times these donks get away wit a terrible play like this.
